Institutional space design to support Baha’i’ faith.
Settled in the valley slope of Panchgani, Bahai’ Academy is a residential institution built in regard to the Baha'i' Faith.
It started as a movement for the martyrs who laid down their lives for Baha'i faith in home country. The client brief for the
institute was to accommodate programs that included workshops, conference rooms for various sized groups & residential area
for staff and students.
Process
The site sloping towards the Kudal
valley needed a building which
unfolded itself for a variety of views
over a long length rather than a
straight block. To achieve this, the
building evolved with a serrated
edge giving more breathing area.
Concept / Architecture Derivation / Plan
A veranda-like circulation space around the Persian courtyard doubles as an activity spine linking all the rooms and creating
opportunities to interact with each other. Being placed on the edge, varying site levels are well integrated into the project.
Result
Uniquely positioned to take advantage ,the academy completely opens itself to the view of the valley as well as to the inner
courtyard, allowing a visual connect with others.

language.
